Vinyl coating is a unique surface treatment for Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) Products. GBMP vinyl coating technology involves a seamless and permanent bonding of a thin, flexible vinyl coating to an FRP surface forming a durable and flexible barrier. While some may view vinyl coatings as simple paints or films, they are specifically engineered to penetrate and integrate into the FRP surface to enhance the performance and aesthetics of the FRP without adding any bulky weight to the material. Moreover, while some coatings are prone to peeling and cracking, vinyl coatings are specifically designed to adapt to the flexibility of the FRP and therefore, control the likely peeling or cracking.
Vinyl coated FRP has some of the highest protection against corrosion. Although FRP itself is resistant to many chemicals, the vinyl coating enhances that protection further. It acts as a first line of defense to some of the most aggressive chemicals used in the marine, chemical processing, and wastewater treatment industries, including acid, alkali, and saltwater. Since vinyl coated FRP has advanced durability, the vinyl layer can resist physical impacts, scratches, and abrasion that would FRP. Such products can be used in high traffic or aggressive locations like factory floors, walkways, or parts of transportation systems, where FRP would be used in contact with heavy equipment. Vinyl coated FRP does not degrade in the sunlight, so the color and quality of the finish would not change even with prolonged use outdoors. Such durability would also minimize maintenance. Products would not require frequent cleaning or repairing.

There are dozens of colors and an assortment of finishes and textures to choose from for FRP products to meet unique design criteria and/or branding. Among coated FRP options and other substrates, vinyl coated FRP offers the best combination of performance, price, and convenience. For example, without vinyl coating, FRP is quite lightweight, loses protective attributes, and lacks aesthetic options as compared to vinyl coating. Additionally, rusting is a problem for metal products and anti-corrosion coatings could make them heavier. FRP lightweight protective coatings do not make it excessively rusting. Care is simple, as coated FRP simply needs mild soap and water to rinse off, unlike other materials that require specialized cleaners.
